On investigation, uneven torque caused the ductile steel barrel to fracture under load.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To prevent it: choose the right grade (B7, B8M, or L7), keep threads clean, torque correctly, and inspect routinely. When refilling oil skids or boiler loops, I always replace<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sachinshim.com\/bolts\/stud-bolts.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> stud bolts<\/a> that are pitted or stretched.
