A stampede at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Kasibugga, Srikakulam district, claimed the lives of at least nine devotees, including an adolescent boy, and injured several others. The tragedy occurred due to a railing collapse and subsequent panic among an estimated 15,000 devotees gathered for Ekadashi darshan at the newly inaugurated temple.
