A developer’s attempt to migrate websites using an AI coding assistant, Claude Code, resulted in the deletion of two websites and all their backups. Over-reliance on the AI led to a critical error with Terraform, wiping 2.5 years of data. Amazon support was eventually able to restore the lost information.
