The Assam government will now scrutinise land transfers between people of different faiths, focusing on legality, funding sources, social impact, and national security. This SOP will also apply to NGOs buying land for educational or healthcare institutions. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on September 8 to inaugurate a bio-refinery and lay foundation stones for infrastructure projects.
