Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress chief and Rajya Sabha leader of opposition, has urged PM Narendra Modi to hold an election for the Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker from the principal opposition party. Kharge highlighted that the position has been vacant for two consecutive Lok Sabha terms, which he argues violates constitutional provisions and democratic norms.
