A nine-foot Siddaramaiah statue appeared overnight at Kalaburagi’s High Court Circle. City corporation officials removed the unauthorized installation before CM DK Shivakumar passed. The statue’s appearance was interpreted as pressure to rename the circle. This group had previously erected a similar statue which was also removed. The incident drew curious crowds who assumed government approval for the statue.
