Gearboxes are notorious for tiny, downstream leaks that go unnoticed until performance drops. When I redesigned a timber sawmill gearbox flange, I replaced plain copper coils with precision-formed Sealing Washers, using Nitrile bonded to stainless steel rings. The initial torque test held perfectly, and I didn’t see a drop even after 2,000 operating hours. These washers create an airtight, oil-tight seal in places a flat washer can’t.
Vibration adds insult to injury. Even small fluctuations can compress washers unevenly—until leaks start. By combining Sealing Washers with spring-lock washers, I ensured preload remains steady, and the twin-washer stack absorbs both axial and lateral forces. If you’re still using standard washers in oil reservoirs or gearbox covers, you’re missing out on real uptime gains.
